** Fish -- Acoustic Session
I suppose that I should preface this by pointing out that I really don't like acoustic music. There are places where it's nice or appropriate, but I've never been a big fan of "unplugged" sessions where rocking tunes are redone without electricity. This is a good example. Fish has a number of "soft" tracks that are very good, such as "Cliche" or "Gentleman's Excuse Me", but they aren't here. Instead, we have a bunch of "Suits" tracks, a couple of Marillion songs and three "Internal Exile" songs. None of them are particular stand outs, although I would have to say that both "Kayleigh" and "Sugar Mice" suffer greatly in comparison to the Marillion originals. On the whole, this is a pretty pointless release from a rather slow (and disappointing) era in Fish's solo career (release date: 1994). However, the CD does include a fairly amusing picture of Fish as a "one-man band".
